EconomyCon was an early gaming convention run by Roaming Panther, a game publisher in Mesa. It was held at least six times, maybe more, starting a few years before HexaCon. It appears to have been free to attend. Details are sparse, though it advertised four events in Dragon magazine, each at a different location. These highlight that, in addition to a variety of boardgames, RPGs and miniatures, EconomyCon also included Japanimation, which didn't find its own cons (as anime) until AniZona in 2005. Thanks to Masao, who pointed me towards this one. |
