It Came from the '80s

Overview

The It Came from the '80s Weekend (godaddysites.com) was supposedly an event extension to the It Came from the '80s magazine. It was due to be held in Scottsdale in March 2020, so would have been likely to be cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but it was gone long before that. The social media accounts and website of the event were deleted by November 2019, so while it may never have been officially cancelled, it never happened.

Event organiser O'Neal Pignani had already built a name for this sort of behaviour with earlier events outside of Arizona and with the It Came from the '80s magazine, for which at least one issue was created as a PDF but allegedly never printed. Some of that background is detailed at Nerd and Tie (nerdandtie.com). In 2022 he announced a further Arizona event, Atomic Monster Weekend, for September 2023, with an ever-growing list of celebrity guests, but that was also cancelled just over a week out and its online presence deleted.

Guests

As a guest-centric event, It Came from the '80s Weekend would have had too many guests to comfortably list in the table above. Here they are in more readable form:

2020: Tim Clarke, Diane Franklin, Steven Geoffreys, Brinke Stevens, William Stout.
