Cactus Needles

The Cactus Needles newsletter was created by Jean Palmer in 1994 for the Southwest Costumer's Guild. The name appeared on its second issue.

Issue #1 in January 1994 was a single page activities calendar. Issue #12 in December 1994 ran nine pages with a wealth of content.

MAW

Phoenix Fantasy Film Society Inc. Newsletter

The Phoenix Fantasy Film Society, Inc. was founded in September 1973 to "upgrade the standards of science fiction, fantasy, and horror films in the Valley." They still exist today.

The issues we have online are from the 1980s and were edited by David Storck.

Sticky Issues

Sticky Issues was a general fandom newsletter, but often tied to specific conventions, like CactusCon, the 1988 NASFiC, and WesterColt .45, the 1992 Westercon, among others. However, it covered a lot more and was circulated to all members of CASFS as well as the committees of various conventions.

This became The Farr Side (see above) after the name of its then editor, Bruce Farr.
