CopperCon

Overview

CopperCon was an annual science fiction convention with a special focus on literature. It was run by CASFS (the Central Arizona Speculative Fiction Society) and was held from 1981 to 2014. In 2018, it was revived as half of CoKoCon, a joint effort by CASFS and WesternSFA. The name reflects that its heritage is in a CopperCon and a ConKopelli. Notes

CopperCon 7 was a relaxacon held two weeks after Phoenix hosted the North American Science Fiction Convention (NASFiC). Larry Hallock was the chair of CopperCon 10 but had to stand down shortly before the convention. Matthew Frederick stepped in to replace him. CopperCon 14 was also known as CopperCon Unplugged. Robert Osman was the chair of CopperCon 19, but he died before the con. Craig Dyer stepped in to replace him. The Program Book PDF for CopperCon 20 is missing pages 7-8. CopperCon 29 was cancelled. CopperCon 33 was also known as CopperCon Revolution. CopperCon 34 was branded FANtasm.
